At least 100 chimneys are being drilled into the mountainside of the cave in which 12 young soccer player and their coach are being trapped, said the head of the rescue mission.

This is an effort to create a new way to take out the boys caught inside the cave. It would be very risky to take out the young boys from the chambers flooded underground.

Governor of Chiang Rai province Narongsak Osottanakorn said, "Some of the chimneys are as deep as 400 metres. but they still cannot find their location yet," He also added that the mission lacked the technology.

He also added, "We estimate that the kids are 600 metres down, but we don't know the (exact) target."

The major question is the dipping oxygen levels in the cave, however, rescuers have managed to establish a line to pump in fresh air.
