West Bengal: Newborn dies as three eunuchs snatch him from mother’s lap and start dancing

In a shocking incident has come to light from West Bengal where a newborn boy died after a group of eunuchs snatched him from the mother’s lap on Friday.

The case happened in the Jhargram district of West Bengal, where eunuchs came to the home of the family and demanded Rs 11,000 as the family welcomed twins to their home.


The children were born to Chandan Khiladi, a resident of Uttar Shilda in Binpur police station area on December 4. However, one of the children was having complications in his heart and was admitted to the Jhargram Superspeciality Hospital, locals said.

However, he was released from the hospital on Wednesday after 20 days in the hospital. On Friday, three eunuchs came to the home of Khiladi, police said.

They demanded Rs 11,000 from the family and after being refused, the three started abusing the family, police said.

Then, they snatched the boy from his mother’s lap and started dancing with the newborn. Later, the family agreed to give them Rs 2,000, police said.

As the baby’s condition was not well and hence, he fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital where the doctor pronounced him dead.

In the meantime, locals have stopped the three eunuchs from fleeing away from the stop. Police have arrested the three and started further investigation into the matter, NDTV reports said.

Eunuchs are accused of demanding a whopping amount on the occasion of a child’s birth or son’s marriage.
