Watch: Kids protest against Citizenship Amendment Act by singing carols in skull caps, headscarves

In the middle of massive demonstrations on many parts of the country against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), a group of young kids from Kerala are winning some love on the internet for manifesting their support in a unique way.

In solidarity with the demonstrators, the group of kids sang Christmas carols while donning skull caps and headscarves. This happened during the Christmas carol service at the Marthoma Church, in Kerala’s Kozhencherry.

The video was posted on twitter by user Jijoy with a caption, "This is India, no one can stop the unity of our religions. Please see how these youngsters appeared in their X'mas carol service in solidarity with Indian Muslims and protest against CAA&NRC. This was part of their Christmas carol service in Marthoma Church, Kozhenchery, Kerala."

In the clip, the kids can be witnessed singing carols as the crowd cheers them. The boys in the clip were donning skull caps and girls were in black headscarves.

The clip was also shared by Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, he retweeted the video and captioned it, "Ah yes - you can tell who they are from their clothes!"

After the clip was shared on the internet, Twitterati bestowed praises for the kids for supporting Indian Muslims and showing what real India stands for. One user wrote, "Tears of hope" and another wrote, "Real India, Our India."

The Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) was passed on 18th December 2019 by the upper house. CAB gives Indian citizenship to the non-Muslims of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
