UP: Minor girl taken hostage, gang-raped for over a month

In yet another appalling incident reported from Uttar Pradesh, a 15-year-old girl was taken hostage and allegedly gang-raped for more than a month in Meerut district.

The shocking incident has been reported from Kanker Khera area which comes under the jurisdiction of Sardhana police station. It is also alleged that the accused were attempting to sell the girl.


However, the girl in some way managed to break free from the captivity and narrated her ordeal to the police, according to a report in Hindi daily Hindustan.

In the meantime, police have registered a case against two accused. The incident dates back to 28th January, 2021.

As maintained by the victim, her mother has so far got married thrice. She said her mother took her out on some pretext where two youth drugged and took her to their house.

The accused continued to gang-rape her for over a month. On 13th March, the girl escaped from the house and reached Sardhana police station and lodged a complaint.

Later, the police lodged an FIR against the girl's mother and two accused. The mother has been made a co-conspirator in the crime.

According to the SHO of Sardhana police station, the victim's mother first married a man in Radhna village. She later married an armyman with whom she had five kids. Following the death of her second husband, the woman re-married for the third time and stays in Kanker Khera.
