UP: Man rapes sister-in-law, threatens to kill her child if she reports incident

A young woman was allegedly raped and threatened by her brother-in-law in a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district. The accused was taken into custody following the incident, police said.

The incident happened on Wednesday when the woman was all alone in her house, PTI quoted SHO of Bisanda police station Narendra Pratap Singh as saying.


The accused had also threatened the victim of killing her two-and-a-half-year-old kid if she told anyone about the horrific crime, police said.

A case has been lodged in the matter on Thursday on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim and the accused was taken into police custody on Friday, the SHO said.

Further investigation is underway, police said.

In another incident reported from Telangana, A 40-year-old primary school teacher was taken into police custody for allegedly sexually assaulting students of classes 2, 3, and 4 multiple times during the coronavirus lockdown.

The teacher used to call these school kids to the school on the pretext of online classes as the students did not own smartphones.

The accused teacher has been taken into custody and booked under Section 376 of the IPC and the POCSO Act.
