UP Crime: 3 baby girls raped, murdered in 20 days; this time 3-year-old victim

A 3-year-old girl was found dead in a sugarcane field in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri on Thursday, this was the third incident of rape and murder in the district within a span of one month.

The kid, who had been missing since Wednesday, had injuries on the head. The victim’s body was found in the nearby area of her village, police said on Thursday.

Earlier today, the police said the three-year-old whose remains was recovered from a sugarcane field was raped and murdered. No arrests made thus far, police stated.

The girl's father in his complaint alleged that Lekhram, a resident of their village, had kidnapped and killed her because of an old enmity with his family.
After this, Lakhimpur Kheri Superintendent of Police Satendra Kumar Singh stated that a case of murder was filed against the accused.

Attempts are in progress to catch the accused while further action will be considered after the post-mortem report is received, the SSP said.

Recently, Lakhimpur Kheri was in the news when a 17-year-old girl was found dead outside her village. She was allegedly raped and murdered after she went to fill a scholarship application.

Her disfigured body was recovered near a dry pond, about 200 metres away from her village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Neemgaon police station.

Before this inccident, a 13-year-old girl was raped and throttled to death in the district.

According to the Police, the girl had gone to her fields in the afternoon and when she did not return home, her family started looking for her.

Both shocking incidents, which happened last month, drew criticism from the opposition, with Congress and Samajwadi Party lawmakers lambasting the Yogi government over the law and order situation.
