UP: Army man’s father hacked to death, pregnant wife thrashed over land dispute in Amethi

An army personnel’s father was hacked to death and his pregnant wife physically assaulted in Uttar Pradesh’s Sangrampur area in the matter of a land dispute, said police on Wednesday.

Rajendra Mishra who was 55 years of age was murdered with a sharp edged weapon and his pregnant daughter-in-law beaten up by Ashok Shukla and his abetter on Tuesday late afternoon, they said.


The victim’s son Surya Prakash is in the Indian Army and posted in Jammu and Kashmir.

The occurrence came to pass in Uttar Pradesh’s Thengaha Shukulpur village, police said.

Superintendent of police, Khyati Garg stated that the body of the victim has been sent for autopsy and a search operation has been initiated in order to apprehend Shukla and others complicit in the crime.
