Tamil Nadu: 15-year-boy stabbed by his uncle after he refused to light a cigarette

In a tragic incident took place in Coimbatore where a 15-year-old was allegedly stabbed by his uncle over a petty issue on Saturday night.

However, the victim was rushed to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) where treatment is being provided to him.


Know why man stabbed his nephew:

The 43-year-old named A Manikandan, who is a car driver tried to kill his nephew after he refused to light a cigarette for him.

The shocking incident took place on Saturday night at Bajanaikovil street in Ramanathapuram.

The victim identified as Yogesh, who is the son of Manikandan’s younger sister named Krishnamani.

Reportedly, Yogesh had come to his uncle’s residence a few days ago. On Saturday, when the 43-year-old man asked Yogesh to lit his cigarette. However, Yogesh allegedly denied that, and then Manikandan scolded him to follow his instruction.

On getting the response from Yogesh, Manikanadan got angry and he allegedly stabbed Yogesh in the abdomen.

Following this, Yogesh was taken to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) where treatment is being provided to him. He is said to be in a stable condition now.

The complaint was filed by the victim’s father against the accused. Also, police have arrested the accused on Sunday. He was booked under section 294 (b) (utters any obscene words in a public place), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and 506 (2) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Meanwhile, the 43-year-old accused has been remanded under judicial custody.
