Shiv Sena functionary shot dead in Ahmednagar, 6 charged with murder

A Shiv Sena worker was shot dead on Sunday in Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar district , around 255 km from Mumbai, said police.

Suresh Gire Patil, sub-district president of saffron outfit’s Kopargaon unit, was shot dead inside his house in Bhojane village by six people who shot four rounds and also stabbed him, an official stated.


"The six people managed to flee after killing Patil. They have been charged for murder under sections of IPC and Arms Act. We have identified two people involved in the crime," Ahmednagar Superintendent of Police Sagar Patil told news agency PTI.

The official stated that the deceased also had cases of murder, rioting etc against him.
