Mumbai: 22-year-old man molests woman guest at five-star hotel, booked

A 22-year-old man, who is suspected to be a house-keeping staff at a five-star hotel in Mumbai, was booked for allegedly flashing and molesting a female guest in a washroom on 37th floor on Sunday, police said.

The female guest was filming for a web series in the hotel, polce said.


"The woman went to the changing room after wrapping up the shoot for the day. While she was changing her clothes, the accused Dileshwar Mahant grabbed her and flashed himself. He also tried to gag her to prevent her from screaming," the official said.

The woman in some way managed to run out of the washroom and raised an alarm, the police said.

The 22-year-old, identified as Mahant was overpowered by other staff members of the hotel.

He was later booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on various charges which included molestation after the woman registered an FIR with NM Joshi Marg police station, the official said.

No arrest in the case has been made so far.
