Mumbai: 13-year-old girl abducted, raped by her Facebook friend

A minor girl got kidnapped and raped by her friend, whom she met on social media.
However, the accused persons have been arrested on Monday. The girl was finally reunited with her family since she was missing, timesnownews.com report claimed.

The girl was allegedly abducted and raped in Mumbai’s Agripada.


According to the victim’s mother, the 13-year-old girl went missing on July 1. Then, the girl’s mother approached the police and lodged her daughter’s missing complaint.

The police immediately launched a probe. During the investigation, police found that the girl was in touch with the prime accused on Facebook.

To nabbed the accused, police conducted raids in Rajasthan’s Jhalwad and Rajgarh in Madhya Pradesh. The police arrested 5 persons and rescued the 13-year-old girl.

Prime accused confessed the crime:

During interrogation, the prime accused told that his allies helped him in abducting the girl. He also confessed to taking the girl to Rajasthan during the lockdown, the Times of India reported.

The vehicle used by the accused was not intercepted even as it crossed state borders amid the lockdown.

According to media reports, the girl was allegedly raped by the prime accused. Meanwhile, he has been booked under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Cybercrime cases have been heightened since the usage of the Internet increased. Recently, a 20-year-old man in Hyderabad blackmailed the girl by sending sexually explicit photos, messages through a fake Instagram account.
