Gujarat man abducted, brutally killed by wife's relatives

In an appalling incident of murder reported from Gujarat’s Botad district, a man was kidnapped and killed by the relatives of his wife as the latter never approved the marriage of the couple, the Gujarat Police said.

The victim, identified as Jaysukh, a native of Limbali in Gadhda taluka, was mercilessly killed in Gujarat’s Botad district on Monday, the Times of India reported.


The victim, Jaysukh’s dead body was recovered 15 km away from his village on Monday. His corpse had several injury marks and his head was smashed with a stone, police said.

As maintained by one of the friends of the deceased, Jaysukh was kidnapped by four individuals on Sunday when they were on the way from Itariya to Limbali.

"When I was going to drop Jaysukh to his village, the four relatives of his wife came in a car and waylaid us. They started beating us with sticks and pipes and forced Jaysukh into the car and fled," the victim's friend said in his complaint.

Furthermore, the victim’s friend told police that the four accused included the brother of the deceased man's wife, her cousins and one unidentified person.

All the four accused were a resident of Nani Kundal in Babra taluka of Amreli and have been on the run since the horrific incident occured, police said.

According to police, the 25-year-old man and his lover had tied the knot almost four years ago and had been living in Limbali village.

The wife's family was not happy with her marriage to Jaysukh. So the young couple had shifted to Limbali. We are investigating as to why Jaysukh's in-laws attacked him after four years," said police.

Police have lodged a case of murder (302) against the four accused and investigating the case.
