Gujarat: Groom's father elopes with bride's mother, couple postpones wedding

The marriage of a couple has been called off after the groom's father and bride's mother allegedly eloped in Gujarat. The incident came to fore after both families found the duo missing for over 10 days and a missing case was filed by the two families.

According to reports, the couple was about to get married in the second week of February. But they postponed the wedding after the old couple went missing from their homes. The groom's father and the bride's mother knew each other from an early age. The duo, who had allegedly tried to run away from homes for several times and get married, but failed as their respective families ended up marrying them with other persons.

However, the duo decided to give their 'relationship' a second chance and eloped a month before their children's marriage.

Later, the families of the groom and bride came to know about their disappearance as the duo was missing for 10 days. Both the families then filed missing person's reports at the local police station. In the reports both the families have mentioned that the 48-year-old man and 46-year-old woman were last seen in their respective residences on January 10.

The police are investigating the matter.

Worth mentioning here, the groom's father is a Katargam based businessman and the bride's mother is a housewife, who is a resident of Navsari area.
