Good News: Read books for free while travelling by train; Railway launches ‘Library on Wheels’

Indian Railways keep on taking new initiatives from time-to-time to make the journey exciting and enjoyable for the passengers. The Indian railway has started the facility of ‘Library on Wheels’ in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra.

Currently, the service is available from Deccan Queen Express which runs from Mumbai to Manmad and from Mumbai to Pune. Under this initiative, any passenger will be able to read his favorite book or magazine for free during the journey. Also, if you do not want your favorite book or magazine, you can also suggest.


Senior railway official said this service is free of cost and volunteers of the Marathi Vikas Sanstha of the Marathi language department will provide books to the passengers at the start of the journey and the books will be collected before the end of the journey by volunteers.

Indian Railways keep on taking new initiatives from time-to-time to make the journey exciting and enjoyable for the passengers.
