Delhi: 22-year-old man kills Facebook friend for a shocking reason

In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old man killed his friend in east Delhi’s Trilokpuri area, police said on Monday.

According to the PTI reports, the accused bludgeoned his friend for allegedly demanding sexual favours from him.

The accused man has been identified as Monu, they said. The now-deceased man has been identified as Bharat (32), a resident of Trilokpuri.

On Monday, Monu killed Bharat by smashing his head with a heavy stone, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Deepak Yadav said.

After killing Bharat, the 22-year-old man started heading towards a police station to report the incident but was intercepted by the police’s emergency response vehicle (ERV) team, the DCP said.

According to a police official, when the police team questioned Monu about the bloodstains on his clothes then he revealed that he had murdered his friend because he asked for sexual favours.

A police team reached the spot and recovered the body of Bharat.

The accused man and Bharat became a friend through Facebook and knew each other for the last three years. At the time of the incident, both of them were drunk, police said.

Meanwhile, a case under section 302 (murder) has been registered against Monu at the Mayur Vihar police station.
