Coronavirus scare: Man suffers with fever commits suicide after presuming COVID-19 infection

A 32-year-old man, who was suffering from cold and fever, allegedly ended his own life by slitting his throat with a shaving blade after assuming that he had been infected with the deadly coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur ddistrict on Sunday. A sucide note has been found.

The deceased man, named Sushil Kumar, used to own and work at a salon in the town. He was gravely distressed after catching symptoms similar to that of coronavirus. He was suffering from caugh and fever from the past few day. Allegedly, he was also scared that he might transmit the infection to his kids and hence he took the step, said police.


On the report of the ToI, the man was receiving treatment at a private clinic in Modi Nagar. However, his condition manifested no improvement and the symptom worsened over the last week. This further exacerbated his fear.
