Coimbatore: Class nine girl raped, impregnated, 8 people arrested

Eight people, including teenage students, were taken into custody on Monday for sexually assaulting a ninth standard girl two months ago and impregnating her, said police.

The victim informed her parents that she has been putting up with stomach pain for the last few days.

Following this, her parents took her for a medical examination at a government hospital on Saturday, said police.

Shocked to find out that their daughter, a private school student in the city, was expecting a baby, the parents filed a complaint with the police.

Inquire brought out into the open that four of her classmates and other fore had allegedly sexually assaulted her two months ago, they said.

The eight were taken into custody and further investigations are underway, they further added that the eight were arested for raping and impregnating class nine girl.
