A 50-year-old man has been taken into police custody for allegedly hiring contract killers to murder his son after a property dispute in Bengaluru.

According to a report in Times Now news, the businessman's son had tortured him for a share in the property.

The murder was reported on 12th January. The businessman has been identified as Keshava Prasad, according to Times of India.

According to Avalahalli police, they have solved the case after nabbing Prasad, who is a resident of Malleswaram. The police have also taken two killers identified as Naveen Kumar and Keshav into their custody, both aged 19.

The businessman had registered a police complaint stating that his son Kaushal Prasad has been missing since 10th January.

The businessman in his complaint stated that his son was missing after he accompanied his friends in a car. Before going out, Kaushal had handed over his phone to his younger brother.

On Jan 10, son’s body parts were found from three gunny bags in the Elemallappa lake.

"When we analysed the CCTV footage, we found that Kaushal had boarded a white Maruti Zen car near Malleswaram 18th Cross. We tracked the vehicle and reached Naveen Kumar and Keshav. The accused had bought the car some days back from a second-hand car dealer for Rs 1 lakh. We detained the duo for interrogation. Later, we also gathered some more footage where the car was seen moving towards Elemallappa lake. The accused later confessed to killing and revealed that the victim's father paid them Rs 3 lakh for the murder. An advance of Rs 1 lakh was already given," the report quoted a police officer as saying.

Later, the accused businessman told police that his son Kausal used to torture him for money and property.
