Assam: Group of miscreants attempt to rape two nurses who were on their way to hospital in Biswanath district

In a shocking incident that is coming to light from Assam’s Biswanath district, group of miscreants attempted to rape two nurses while they were on their way to a hospital to pick up their colleagues. The incident happened near a petrol station at Biswanath on Saturday.

As per reports, miscreants tried to rape the two nurses employed at a private hospital in Biswanath Chatiali when they were going to the hospital to get their colleagues. The nurses managed to run away and reached the hospital where they notified the staff about the incident.


Later, the hospital staff and local residents got hold of one of the miscreants and handed him to the police. These miscreants had attempted to assault them earlier also bur the nurses were afraid to complaint, an official at the hospital stated.

"The incident happened at that time when they were on the way to the hospital to pick up one of their colleagues. The incident happened just in front of the petrol pump. We have managed to catch a culprit and others fled from the area," the official added.

In the meantime, a case has been filed under section 341, 342, 354-A and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. Four people have been held in connection with the case thus far.
