AP Shocker: Stepbrother sells 13-year-old girl to prostitution racket

In a shocking incident, a stepbrother sold his younger sister to a gang operating prostitution racket at Singarayakonda town in Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam district.

The incident took place on July 18 but came to notice on Tuesday after the minor girl somehow gathered the courage to alert police by dialing up 100.


Police rescue minor:

After receiving inputs from a minor girl, police immediately swung into action. They traced her location with the help of the call and rescued her by conducting an undercover operation.

According to the report in timesnownews.com, the minor girl was born through the second marriage of her father, police said. However, her parent’s marriage life was full of disturbances due to various reasons including property disputes. Therefore, she was staying with her stepbrother in Nellore district’s Kavali. On July 12, the stepbrother and his wife took the girl to Singarayakonda where they sold her off to Rs 27,000 to the prostitution racket.

The girl call up the police and asked for help. Police reached the location and rescued the girl.

The girl left in a state of shock due to the incident. Police have recorded girl’s statement, as Times of India.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, at Kandukur Police Station. Also, the owner of the house has been arrested where the prostitution racket was being run. The arrests of the minor’s stepbrother and his wife are yet to be done.
