Guru Nanak Jayati: Banks to remain close for three days straight; ATMs might face cash shortage

If you are planning to withdraw money from your bank or thinking to complete any pending work related to your bank, you won't be able to do so. The reason being, all the banks are going to remain closed following the bank holidays on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

All the commerical banks including SBI, PNB, HDFC, ICICI, Yes Bank, and many others are closed in some parts of the country including suburbs of New Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.


Tomorrow, 23 November 2018, there will be a bank holiday on account of Guru Purab (Guru Nanak Jayanti). As the banks will stay closed for continuous three-days, this time as well, people can face cash shortage while withrading cash from the ATMs.

Banks were closed on Wednesday, 21 November as well on account of Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi, Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.

Bank holiday, in Kerala, for Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi was marked on 20 November and there will be no bank holiday on the state on account of Guru Purab (Guru Nanak Jayanti), however, there will be a bank holiday on 24 November as it is the fourth Saturday of the month.
