2 IIM Kashipur students bag highest ever international stipend of Rs 4.3 lakh

Two students from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur have been offered the highest international stipend of Rs 4,38,133 by an international conglomerate. Two more students bagged the highest domestic stipend of Rs 1,29,100 in BFSI sector. The average stipend of the entire batch stood at Rs 49,075.

IIM Kashipur recently wrapped up its the summer placement process for PGP (Post Graduate Programme) batch 2015-17. A total of 117 profiles were offered to a batch of 123 students by 65 companies.

The institute reported a 61 per cent hike in the highest domestic stipend and a 29 per cent hike in both average stipend and the highest domestic stipend.

Speaking to Catch News, Kumar Subham, member of IIM K placement team said, "Several upcoming startups such as UrbanClap, Droom, and Travel Unravel came for placements this year. We look at the long-term and career growth prospects while inviting start-ups. We also have several long term tie-ups with established firms such as ICICI, Emami."

Some of the top recruiters include PwC, ICICI Bank, Emami, Larsen & Toubro, Cummins, etc.

The highest number of number of offers, 59, were made in Sales and Marketing (S&M) domain. This was followed by Finance, 14, and Human Resources, 12.

Some of the roles offered in S&M are strategic brand management, market research, advertising, content management, digital marketing, in-bound marketing, retail marketing, B2B and B2C marketing, marketing process enhancement and business development.

Profiles offered in Finance were investment banking, agricultural risk, agricultural retail, micro-finance, treasury operations, technology application, security exchange, economic research and surveillance and general finance while those in Human Resource included strategic performance management, talent management, learning and development and industry relation.
