From Mukesh, Nita Ambani to poor people, here's how India united for PM Modi's #9Baje9Minute call

On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘9 baje 9 minute’ appeal, the whole nation was united on April 5 at 9 pm to light diyas and candles from their homes amid coronavirus pandemic outbreak.

From Politicians, Business tycoons, Bollywood, Sports' popular figures to India’s common and poor people, the whole country was united for the good cause in a bid to thanks the people who are fighting against the ghastly virus.

Social media also filled with several pictures and video, including Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani and Ratan Tata images of lightning diyas, candles brought big smiles on faces of netizens.

Even PM Modi and his mother Heeraben Modi images also surfaced the Internet at 9 pm on April 5.

Besides affluent people, India’s poor people also came forward to join the cause at 9 pm by lighting diyas, candles outside their homes. Several photos flooded the Internet which showed poor people sitting outside their houses with diyas and candles.

Earlier on April 3, PM Modi shared a video message and urged citizens to end the darkness brought by coronavirus by switching off lights of their homes. He asked Indians to light diyas, candles or open torch lights for nine minutes at 9 pm on April 5. Notably, it was the second Sunday activity given by PM Modi to nation after Janata curfew (March 22).
