Jadeja replaced spinner Ravichandran Ashwin as he clinched the top spot in the latest ICC Player Rankings for Test Bowlers. The bowler took nine wickets and also played an unbeaten knock of half-century in the drawn third Test against Australia.
His brilliant performance in Ranchi where he carved five wicked for 124 and four for 52 in Ranchi got him seven points and he successfully left Ashwin behind in the points tally with 899 points.
Jadeja has become only the third India player after Ashwin and Bishan Bedi to be at the top of bowling charts on his own.
Ashwin has dropped down to second place with 862 points after losing 37 points.
