‘Used to attend Parliament in intoxicated state, now running Punjab’: Harsimrat Badal slams CM Mann in LS [WATCH]

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal slammed Punjab Chef Minister Bhagwant Mann in the Lok Sabha on December 20, alleging that he used to come to the Parliament inebriated.

She went on to say that MPs used to switch seats and complain about him.

“CM of our state (Punjab) used to sit in the House a few months ago. The person who used to come to the Parliament in an inebriated state is now running the state. Members who used to sit near him had complained to change their seats,” Badal said in the Lok Sabha.

She also discussed the incident in which CM Mann violated security by filming a video around the Parliament.

Badal also questioned CM Bhagwant Mann's ability to lead a sensitive state like Punjab.

“If CM is like this then you can imagine what will be the condition of the state. We find 'Don't drink and drive' written on the roads but they are drinking and driving the state,” she said.

This is not the first time that SAD has raised the issue of CM Mann’s ‘drinking habit’. In September, the party alleged that Bhagwant Mann was ‘extremely inebriated’ and had to be deplaned from an aircraft in Frankfurt, Germany.

However, Lufthansa Airlines issued a notification in this regard and 'exonerated’ the Punjab Chief Minister. In its notification, the airline stated that the flight from Frankfurt to Delhi was delayed due to delayed inbound flight and an aircraft change. There was no other reason to it.

Giving reply to a user’s tweet, who asked whether the CM was in a ‘drunk’ state, the airlines replied that it can't provide information regarding individual passengers due to data protection reasons.

The Airline issued the clarification hours after Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal alleged that CM Mann boarded the flight in a ‘heavily drunk’ state and created a ruckus before being deplaned.
