BJP slams Kejriwal for skipping ED summon

New Delhi: Reacting to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal skipping the Enforcement Directorate's summons for the fifth time, BJP leader Harish Khurana said that it is just "a tactic to show himself helpless."

Khurana came down heavily on CM Kejriwal and questioned that if the summons is illegal, then why hasn't he gone to court and gotten it quashed?

"Once again, Arvind Kejriwal has skipped the ED summons. This is the fifth time that he has skipped an ED summons. Arvind Kejriwal is calling it unlawful, so the question arises: if the summons is illegal, then why hasn't he gone to court and gotten it quashed? It is just a tactic to show himself helpless," he said.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal skipped the Enforcement Directorate's summons for the fifth time in connection with the money laundering probe related to irregularities in the Delhi excise policy 2021-22 case.

The fresh summons to the Delhi CM followed the fourth summons, which he had skipped on January 18. Reacting to Kejriwal skipping the ED summon for the fifth time, Union Minister Meenakashi Lekhi said that, "Arvind Kejriwal is - 'Kaam zero, drama sara".

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party termed the summon of ED to the Delhi CM as "unlawful."

"Delhi CM and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal will not appear before ED today as well. We will comply with the lawful summons. Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to arrest Arvind Kejriwal and topple the Delhi government. We will not allow this to happen," the AAP said.

Kejriwal has so far skipped four previous summons issued by the ED on January 18, January 3, November 2, and December 22, calling them "illegal and politically motivated."
