UPSC Prelims Exam Notification 2018: Applying for Civil Services? Know the changes in eligibility criteria

Union Public Service Commission has released the notification for Civil Services Preliminary examination 2018. Under this notification, UPSC has notified regarding the eligibility criteria for the aspirants.

According to the notification, there is a change in the age limit to appear for the examination. As per the new regulation the age limit has extended now onwards. Candidates who are resident from 1 January 1980 to 31 December 1989 in Jammu & Kashmir will go to have the age relaxation for 5 years from the maximum age limit.

Candidates who are willing to appear for the examination must check the official website and carefully read the notification that has been released by the Commission.

However, the age limit for applying for the examination is 21 to 32 years only. While there is a relaxation for the reserved categories, include SC/ST, OBC and the others. Meanwhile, J&K residents will go to get the extra 5 years to apply for the examination. The notification for the Civil services prelims exam was declared on 7 February 2018. The online application process will remain open till 6 March 2018. So, the aspirants who want to be government employee must apply before the registration close.

Please specify the age limit for applying for the examination has been fixed for 21 to 32 years. Candidates of different reserved category get a concession from maximum age limit. These include SC / ST, OBC and other categories. At present, residents of J & K (residing from 1 January 1980 to 31 December 1989) will receive a concession of 5 years from the maximum age limit. The Chief Notification of Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2018 was issued on February 7, 2018. The application process is in progress and it will run until March 6, 2018

Candidates can apply for the Civil Services exam on the official website at upsconline.nic.in.

The Civil Services 2018 exam will be conducted in two phases. Phase I is for prelims in which objective types of questions will be asked. The candidates who will get qualified in prelims will allow appearing for the Mains examination which will be written- based exam and the further stage is Interview. All the aspirant who wants to apply for IAS and IPS must be the citizen of India only and the age limit for them is between 21 to 32 years only.
