Friday saw the release of two major Malayalam films at the Kerala Box Office. Midhun Manuel's Alamara and Manju Warrier's C/o Saira Banu. And the good news for the makers of both films that both Alamara and Manju Warrier's C/o Saira Banu open to decent start at the Kerala Box Office.
Produced by Malayalam director Lal Jose under the banner of Full On Studios, Alamara marks the second collaboration of Midhun Manuel - Sunny Wayne director-actor duo after the successful Annmariya Kalippilanu. Though the film had released in UAE on Thursday, it didn't stopped the film to take a decent opening at the Kerala Box Office. At the Cochin multiplexes, the family-entertainer, had taken nearly 5 lakh on its opening day, which is quite good for a non-superstar film. Alamara also marked the debut of Aditi Ravi in a female lead's role.
Similar to Alamara, Manju Warrier's C/o Saira Banu also opened to average occupancy at the Kerala Box Office. Directed by Antony Sony and jointly produced by Maqtro Pictures, R. V. Films and Eros International, the film also marked the Mollywood comeback of veteran Telugu actress Amala Akkineni and script debut of Malayalam RJ Shaan. The film, touted as a family thriller has been praised for the performances of lead stars, especially from Manju Warrier and Shane Nigam. While the actual collections are yet-to-be-released, but as per Friday trends, C/o Saira Banu has done similar collections as Alamara.
