Shikara Box Office Collection Day 2: Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film runs at steady pace

Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Shikara: The Untold Story of Kashmiri Pandits starring newcomers Aadil Khan and Sadia is running at a steady pace. The film hit the theatres on Friday alongside Mohit Suri’s Malang starring Aditya Roy Kapur, Disha Patani, Anil Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu.

On its first day, the film minted Rs 1.20 crore whereas on the second day i.e Saturday the film is expected to earn around Rs 2 crore. As per trade analyst’s, Vidhu didn't expect the film to earn 1 crore because of the genre, however, owing to the promotions the film saw a good start according to makers.

The story narrates the ordeal of Kashmiri Pandits after their mass exodus from Valley in 1990, however, people are complaining that the film didn't show the reality of exodus rather was more like a love story which is set in Kashmir 1990s. Also after the film got released internet was trending #BoycottShikara as they were not happy with the film and lashed out at Vidhu for commercialising Kashmiri Pandits’ plight.
