It was really surprised when the BCCI decided to give MS Dhoni the captaincy of team India for the first T20 World Cup held in South Africa. After getting out of 2007 50-50 World Cup from the group stage it was a new move from the BCCI to make some new changes in the team. MS Dhoni got a chance to led the young brigade of team India starring with Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, and Virendra Sehwag.

The team had a wonderful tournament and they finally managed to have a final match against Pakistan after defeating Australia in Semi-Finals. It was a tight match between India and Pakistan in finals of T20 World Cup. Indian skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first.

From team India side, Gautam Gambhir made highest 75 runs, and Rohit Sharma, in the end, made team India's score to 157 runs with the help of his 30 runs. Team India set the target of 158 runs in front of team Pakistan led by Misbah-Ul-Haq.

Misbah Ul Haq led team started batting and after an early wicket Pakistan team somehow managed to have some good partnerships. Now in the climax, the match went to last over thrill, where skipper Misbah Ul-Haq had to hit 6 runs on 4 balls remaining the last wicket. In the last over thriller on the bowl of Joginder Sharma, Misbah goes for the scoop shot over short fine-leg and straight up in the air and Sreesanth took the catch.

Well, it was really a moment that India cherised with and the whole nation was celebrating the world cup win after 24 years and that too against Pakistan.
