Trump daughter-in-law Vanessa taken to hospital after exposed to white powder

Donald Trump's daughter-in-law was rush to the hospital on Monday after she opened a suspicious letter containing whiter powder.

President Trump’s daughter-in-law was taken to the hospital as a precaution on Monday after she opened a letter containing an unidentified substance, the New York City Police Department said.

The suspicious letter containing white powder was addressed to Donald Trump's eldest son Donald Trump Jr. Donald Trump Jr. is the eldest son of President and his first wife, Ivana.

According to a report in DailyNews, authorities were called at about 10 a.m. to the E. 54th St. home of Vanessa Trump’s mother, who was also taken to the hospital for observation. The mother had handled the package before handing it to her daughter. A third person was also taken to the hospital, sources said. 

The daughter opened the letter, and white powder spilled out. She then called 911, the source added.

An initial review indicated the substance was not hazardous, police said.

We are investigating the case with law enforcement partners, The Secret Service confirmed in a statement.

 

NBC News first reported the incident. Three residents in total were taken to the hospital after the letter was opened, according to NBC.

Donald Trump's wife Vanessa Trump, 40, is a former model. He has five children and none of them were present at home when the incident took place.

Trump Jr. blamed the letter on political opposition.

“Thankful that Vanessa & my children are safe and unharmed after the incredibly scary situation that occurred this morning,” Donald Trump Jr. tweeted hours later.

Donald Trump Jr. is leading the Trump Organisation along with his younger brother, Eric. In 2016 presidential election, he has been a central figure in the investigation into Russian meddling, after he had a meet with a Russian lawyer who promised to damage information on Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
