Youth Olympics: 15-year-old weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga win 1st gold in Youth Olympics history

A 15-year-old weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga won gold in Youth Olympics. He has become the first gold medalist in the history of Youth Olympics. The 15-year-old weight lifter had achieved the feat by lifting a total weight of 274 kg in the men's 62 kg category at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Monday.

“My lifts might already be good enough to compete with seniors, but that does not mean much to me. I want to keep raising the bar till I win a senior Olympic medal,” Jeremy had told The Bridge ahead of his arrival in Argentina for YOG 2018.

Jeremy had declared to lift 263kgs but eventually went on to lift a cumulative weight of 274 kg. Jeremy had won silver at last year's Youth World Weightlifting Championships in Bangkok, Thailand.

It was earlier reported that Jeremy had completed a total lift of 251kg this year, and the 274kg he lifted in Buenos Aires became his personal best.
