Watch: Ironman Triathlon athlete suffers severe leg cramps while proposing to girlfriend leaves internet in awe

A video of an Ironman Triathlon athlete proposing to his girlfriend while suffering intense cramps has gone viral on social media. 

In the video, the athlete crossed the finish line after an exhausting ironman race and immediately gets down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend.

However, one of the most memorable moments of his life got ruined after he succumbed to severe cramps as he gets down on one knee. Luckily, two people stepped in to help and massaged his cramped legs. The athlete then gathered strength, took the ring out and asked his girlfriend to marry him. Both the men then helped him to stand on his knees and the athlete asked again and the woman said yes.

The heartwarming clip was shared on Instagram by “ironmaneurope”. Since being shared, the clip has accumulated over 39,44,000 views and more than 2 lakh likes.

The video has also sparked a debate, with some users praising the athlete for proposing his girlfriend while suffering from intense cramps, while some said the proposal was the ‘least romantic’ they’d ever seen.

The athlete identified as Cristian Moriatiel, who finished sixth in the men’s 40 to 44 age group race.
