Weather Forecast Rajasthan, Delhi: IMD predicts rainfall in these states

Severe cold wave conditions continue to haunt north India, especially Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab. According to the India Meteorological Department, the region will witness a gradual rise in minimum temperatures by about 4-6 degrees Celsius between January 19 and 21.

The Weather Department also predicted that the plains of Northwest India can witness showers under the influence of the new Western Disturbance. Less intense cold wave conditions will persist on Thursday in these areas. Temperature may dip in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar by tomorrow.

IMD further said that the dense fog is expected in isolated parts of West Bengal, Sikkim and Meghalaya today and Friday.

On Friday, the mercury is expected to rise in Gujarat until January 20.

No major change in night temperature is expected in the rest of the country until Monday, the IMD said.

Delhi

The national capital has witnessed the most number of cold wave days in January in at least a decade.

Delhi recorded its eighth cold wave day today when the minimum temperature was 2.6 degrees Celsius, which is five degrees below the normal. The IMD records a cold wave in the plains when the minimum temperature is 4 degrees or less.

Rajasthan

Most parts of the desert state witnessed intense cold wave conditions today, PTI reported. The minimum temperature in Sikar, Churu and Karauli dropped below the freezing point, while Fatehpur registered below 2.2 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature in Sikar was below 1.5 degrees Celsius, below 1.2 degrees Celsius in Churu and below 0.8 degrees Celsius in Karauli, said IMD.
