Twitter erupts as Union Minister Harsh Vardhan asks Delhiites to eat carrots during smog

Following pollution levels rising rapidly to a three years high in the national capital on Sunday, the Union Minister for Health, Harsh Vardhan dispensed a piece of advice on Twitter.

He suggested people to eat carrot to steer clear of pollution related harms. The Union Minister tweeted, "Eating carrots helps the body get Vitamin A, potassium, & antioxidants which protect against night blindness common in India. Carrots also help against other pollution-related harm to health."

Despite that, Harsh Vardhan’s tweet did not go well with the netizens, while a lot of twitter users responded to his tweet with anger and dismay, others used sarcasm to express their displeasures.

A thick blanket of smog continues to engulf the national capitan and its adjacent states. A public health emergency was announced as the Air Quality Index remained in severe category.
