Rajasthan: Shiva temple collapses due to excavation machine accident, women devotees rescued from debris

In a tragic incident, a Shiva temple in Rajasthan's Karauli district collapsed on January 17 after an excavation machine, being used for drain construction nearby, accidentally hit the temple.

The impact of the collision caused the temple to collapse, trapping a group of women who were offering prayers at the time.

A police team rushed to the spot upon receiving the information and began the rescue operation. Locals also assisted the police team in rescuing the women. Four women who were trapped under the debris were rescued and taken to a hospital for treatment.

Search and clearance work is currently underway.

It is worth noting that the construction of drains in Karauli's Sapotra market has been ongoing for several months.
