Congress president Rahul Gandhi was addressing the huge crowd at Chennai’s Stella Maris College when he blurted something that filled with laughter. While Talking about fugitive jeweller Nirav Modi at Chennai college and blurted out "Narendra" instead of "Nirav" while talking about corrupt businessmen looting taxpayers' money and fleeing the country.

"These people ran away with thousands of crores of rupees," said Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, naming Nirav Modi, his uncle Mehul Choksi. Both Nirav and Mehul are accused in the Rs. 13,000 crore bank scam - and Anil Ambani.

"How many jobs did Nirav Modi create for India? I can bet that you would be able to create more jobs with Rs. 30 lakh the government gives you to start a business," Rahul Gandhi said.

Interacting with students in Chennai, Rahul Gandhi also referred to the investigation against his brother-in-law Robert Vadra and said, "The government should not be selective". “Prime Minister Narendra Modi should also be investigated in the Rafale jet deal,” said the Congress President.

"Investigate Mr Vadra, I am the first one to say it. But investigate the Prime Minister also," Rahul Gandhi said.

Rahul Gandhi also talked about opening the bank system to young businessmen who easily take loans and start a business. "What we want to do is we want to take the money that is going to 15-17 corrupt business people like Narendra...Not Narendra, Nirav Modi..." He paused and grinned, interrupted by a roar of laughter.

"Nirav Modi," Gandhi repeated and continued, "... and open the banking system to entrepreneurs like yourselves so that young women and men can go to banks, take loans and create businesses."
