Congress president Rahul Gandhi has landed into legal trouble after two different cases have been filed against him in two different states for hurting sentiments of people. One complaint has been lodged in Maharashtra’s Pune for calling Veer Savarkar a coward while another has been filed in Bihar’s Patna civil court for allegedly hurting religious sentiments by putting up posters depicting party president as Lord Ram.

In Patna, court complaint has also been filed against Bihar Congress chief Madan Mohan Jha and four others, other than Rahul Gandhi. Bihar Congress workers declared Gandhi as Lord Ram, the seventh avatar of the God Vishnu, while Congress workers had earlier called him a “Shiv Bhakt”.

Meanwhile, according to the complaint registered in Pune, Rahul Gandhi in his complaint. Reportedly he used filthy language and demeaning words against him which have hurt the sentiments of private individuals.

According to Times Now reports, Gandhi’s comment irked Savarkar’s family members following which they filed a police complaint him for making "false and misappropriate statement" about the Hindutva icon and freedom fighter.

The complaint was filed by Ranjeet Savarkar, who is the grandnephew of Veer Savarkar, at Mumbai's Shivaji Park police station. Talking to ANI Ranjeet said, ''Rahul Gandhi while addressing an election rally, had alleged that Veer Savarkar had apologised to the Britishers to be released from jail. It's false. Savarkar ji was jailed for 27 years by the Britishers. I've filed a complaint against him for defaming Savarkar ji.”

While, in Bihar, a few days ago a poster depicting Rahul Gandhi as Lord Rama and also featuring Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Manmohan Singh and few local leaders from the grand old party surfaced in Bihar’s Capital Patna. The poster mocked ruling BJP and read: 'Ve Ram naam japte rahe, tum bankar Ram jiya re!'
