PM Narendra Modi, Donald Trump, Rahul Gandhi, Amitabh Bachchan and others lost huge followers as Twitter removes fake account

Micro-blogging site Twitter started to delete tens of millions of fake accounts from its platforms leading many famous personalities from Political leader to actors. Twitter's massive crackdown has resulted of Prime Minister Modi losing huge numbers of followers on it. Following the crackdown, PM Modi's 43.3 millions of Twitter followers have come down to 43.1 million. Other than PM Modi, several famous political leaders like Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Donal Trump has lost a big number of Twitter followers. Even Bollywood's legend Amitabh Bachchan has lost big numbers of followers.

As per reports, PM Modi lost 18, 613, AICC chief Rahul Gandhi 12, 974 and CM N Chandrababu Naidu lost nearly 5,194 followers on Twitter.

Reportedly, actor Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Mahesh Babu also lost a big number of followers.

Other than Indian personalities, US President Donald Trump and former first lady of United States Hillary Clinton have also lost a big number of followers on Twitter. Reports suggest that at least 37% of Trump’s 48 million followers are fake.

A Twitter spokesperson said reportedly said,“We do not have any numbers available which are specific to this cleanup. Due to technology and process improvements during the past year, we are now removing 214% more accounts for violating our spam policies on a year-on-year basis. The new protections we’ve developed have already helped us prevent more than 50,000 spammy signups per day,” the official said.
