Modi, Nitish Kumar share stage at Sankalp rally; PM says 'Chaukidar Chaukanna hai'

As the 2019 Lok Sabha election is approaching, the electoral rallies and campaigns have begun as today, PM Narendra Modi held a ‘Sankalp Rally’ in Patna, sharing the dais with CM Nitish Kumar and LJP leader Ram Vilas Paswan.

As PM modi began his rally, he first of all remembered the martyrs of Pulwama attack and stated, “I salute the martyrs of Pulwama blast, the whole nation is standing with the families of the jawans.”

During the rally, PM Modi took a jibe at Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s slogan of ‘Chaukidar Chor hai’ and stated that ‘everyone be assured that Chowkidar Chaukanna hai,’ (these days a competition is underway to abuse the 'Chowkidaar', but you be assured, this 'Chowkidaar' of yours is as alert as ever.)

Taking a jibe at Lalu Prasad Yadav’s RJD and Tejasvi Yadav, PM Modi indirectly mentioned the fodder scam and said, “People of Bihar are very much aware of what all happened in the name of fodder. Only we have dared to end the culture of corruption and middlemen which had been a normal practice in the country for decades.”

At the Gandhi Maidan, it was PM Narendra Modi’s maiden rally after winning the 2014 election as prior to it, another ‘Sankalp Rally’ took place in October 2013, where a series of blasts had taken place, killing 6 individual and injuring 85 others.

Post this rally, PM Modi would sign off to UP’s Amethi, the bastion of Rahul Gandhi and the home turf of Congress.

Targeting the Congress party for allegedly demanding evidence for air strikes, PM Modi said at the rally, “Now they have even started asking for proof of the #AirStrike. Why are Congress and its allies demoralizing our forces? Why are they giving statements which are benefiting our enemies?”
