In a heartwarming, event, policemen carried a pregnant woman in his arms to help her reach the hospital on time in Mathura. The GRP official, Sonu Rajora spotted a pregnant woman asking people to help her inside the crowded Mathura cantonment station on Friday. In no time he rushed to her and assisted her in calling an ambulance. When ambulance failed to reach, he carried her in his arms for around 100 metres to reach the nearest hospital.

“I saw the woman was in a pain&her husband was asking people for help. I called for an ambulance, but it wasn’t available. So I took her to the hospital where she gave birth to a baby,” SO Hathras City Sonu Rajora said.

The lady, identified as Bhavna later gave birth to a baby boy at the Mathura woman's hospital. Both the woman and the infant were doing well, said doctors at the facility.

“We got down at the Mathura cantonment station. We were new to the city and requested many people for help but no one came forward. It was then that Rajora approached us. He called an ambulance but it never arrived. The policeman then arranged an autorickshaw and accompanied us to the district hospital in Mathura. But the doctor at the emergency there asked me to take Bhavna to the women’s facility, which was around 100 metres,” Mahesh, husband of Bhavna said.

A GRP station house officer in Hathras, Rajora said, “It was my duty to help another person. I called 108 and 102 services but no ambulance was available. The couple was new to the place and did not know their way around.”
