Lok Sabha Election 2019: Upendra Kushwaha joins UPA, will contest election with 'Mahagathbandhan' in Bihar

In the run up to the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the sidelined RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha has joined the United Progressive Alliance in a major twist for the Bihar polls.

In a blow to the NDA, Kushwaha has joined the grand alliance and will be contesting with Lalu Prasad Yadav’s RJD, Congress, Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM. Today, in a meeting at a Congress headquarters in Delhi, the party has joined the UPA.

News agency ANI tweeted saying, “Leaders of Mahagathbandhan in Bihar, including Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Congress leaders Ahmed Patel and Shaktisinh Gohil in Delhi.”

Congress’ high command leader Ahmed Patel has said, “There is a gathbandhan in Bihar, it's a matter of happiness that Upendra Kushwaha is joining the mahagathbandhan.”
