The incident took place on Tuesday night at Mariamman Temple in Poopara, a town in Idukki, according to officials. The ASI, identified as Shaji, was recorded dancing in an inebriated condition, and the video went viral on social media.

An investigation by special branch police

The district police chief requested a report on the matter and based on the report from the special branch police, the ASI was suspended from his duties.
