Congress’s Divya Spandana mocks Modi over cloud-radar comment on Balakot airstrike: ‘...Get with it Uncle ji’

Congress’ social media campaigner Divya Spanadan took a hot shot on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his recent comment on the 26 February Balakot airstrike that he assumed that the cloud and rain would prevent Indian Air Force plane from getting detected by Pakistani radars.

"FYI @narendramodi the radar to detect planes, cloud or no cloud has been there for decades. Even for the stealth ones. If not, other country’s planes would be crisscrossing the skies firing away at will. This is what happens when you’re stuck in the past. Get with it Uncle ji," Divya Spandana tweeted.

In a recent televised interview, PM Narendra Modi for the first time disclosed that there were confusion and doubt regarding the launch of air strikes given the weather that day. However, he said he gave a green signal to the jets thinking that cloudy cover would prevent Pakistani radars from detecting Indian fighter jets.

Prime Minister while speaking on Balakot airstrikes revealed that he reviewed the preparations for Balakot air strikes at around 9:30 pm on February 25. At 12 midnight experts pointed out that weather had become bad and even contemplated re-scheduling the strikes.

On which PM Modi said, he had two things in mind--first the secrecy of the mission, second that there are clouds and it could benefit the IAF jets from escaping the Pakistani radars.
