Congress president Rahul Gandhi takes a dig at PM Modi, accuses him of giving pre-scripted answers; says 'he does not takes real questions'

The war of words between Congress leaders and BJP's lawmakers is on peak and this time the grand old party chief Rahul Gandhi took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi profound skills of speaking in the interviews and public meet. Speaking about the PM Modi's Singapore interview at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) on June 1, Rahul Gandhi tweeted that the PM Modi’s interviews on public platforms were scripted.

Gandhi also called Narendra Modi the first Indian PM who took “spontaneous” questions to which the translator had pre-scripted answers, Gandhi said it would be an “embarrassment” if he took “real” questions.

“The first Indian PM who takes ‘spontaneous’ questions that the translator has pre-scripted answers to!” Congress chief tweeted.

“Good that he doesn’t take real questions. Would have been a real embarrassment to us all if he did,” Gandhi said on Twitter and tagged a video of the event in Singapore.

The video that Gandhi posted was reportedly that of a Q and A session that Prime Minister Modi addressed at Singapore's Nanyang Technological University last Friday.

Responding to Gandhi's tweet, PM Modi dare him to speak in any language he is comfortable in but without reading out on the piece of paper. “I dare the Congress president to speak in Hindi, English or the mother tongue of his mother to deliver a speech in Karnataka for 15 minutes, without reading out from a piece of paper, on the achievements of the party government,” Modi had said.

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Sunday pointed out the prime minister’s speech and tagged a news report on the NTU interview.

“Oh dear. When the translator says what the PM was supposed to say, but didn’t,” he tweeted.
