Amid coronavirus chaos, LPG cylinder gets cheaper; check new prices in these cities

A huge sigh relief has come in between the coronavirus chaos across the country that the price of non-subsidised Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder have been slashed by up to Rs 62 per unit today. This is the second consecutive fall in the last two months.

According to the Indian Oil Corporation, the price of 14.2 kg LPG in Delhi is decreased by Rs 61.50 and now, will be sold at Rs 744.0. While in Mumbai, the non-subsidised LPG cylinder will now be available at Rs 714.50 after the deduction of Rs 62.

While in Kolkata, after LPG price revision, the cylinder will cost Rs 774.5 and Rs 761.5 in Chennai.

The prices of LPG cylinders revises every month by fuel retailers. In India, the price of LPG cylinders in India is dependent primarily on two factors i.e. the international benchmark rate of LPG and the exchange rate of the US dollar and rupee.

As per the rules, every household in India is entitled to get 12 cylinders of 14.2 kg at subsidized rates in a year. Under PAHAL (Direct Benefit Transfer of LPG) scheme, consumers get LPG cylinders at a subsidised rate.
