Bihar minister's son opens fire to drive away children playing on his farm

In a recent development coming in from Bihar’s West Champaran district, the state Tourism Minister and BJP leader Narayan Prasad's son Bablu Prasad allegedly physically assaulted some local kids and fired gun shots in the air to scare away a group of kids who were playing cricket on his field.

The episode transpired in state’s Hardia village on Sunday, the incident was recorded on camera, pictures displayed Bablu Prasad chasing away the kids while holding a rifle in his hand. Some people were allegedly hurt during the incident.

An eyewitness to the incident told ANI, "Kids were playing cricket here. 4-5 people started thrashing them, hit a kid with the butt of a gun and fired gun shots. One of the perpetrator was Narayan's [Prasad] son".

After the locals in the area came to know about the occurrence they went to Narayan Prasad's residence, deliberately destroy his vehicle and allegedly beat up his son, identified as Bablu Prasad. Bablu, who is now admitted to a hospital, has dismissed all the allegations leveled against him.

As maintained by the Superintendent of Police Upendra Verma, the minister's son was accompanied by uncle Harendra Prasad, manager Vijay and other associates, all of whom suffered injuries during the skirmish.

“Police teams have been deployed in the area in order to maintain law and order situation and further investigation into the matter is in process”, said the SP.

In the meantime, the minister has accused the villagers of trying to trespass on his land, claiming that they attacked his family members when they tried to thwart their efforts.

"After my family members were beaten up by the villagers, my son went to the spot with his licensed rifle and pistol but he was also attacked with stones. The villagers also vandalised my vehicle," said minister.
