This young 'Beauty Vlogger of the Year 2017' has become the first makeup artist from the northeastern region and the first in India to win the prestigious title of the 1st edition of NYX Face (Fine Artistry of Cosmetics Elites) Awards in India.

This young lady's journey began when she was in the sixth standard. She would experiment using her sister's cosmetics. Ever since, brushes, colours, and shades remain her significant tools for her artistic skills.

"From the early age, I am interested in make-up and hairstyles. During my sixth standard, Avril Lavigne trend was in, where she wore dark eye makeup and it got inspired me in makeup since then. Though I wanted to pursue my career in artistry field, due to lack of facilities back at home, it was not possible by then," said Nimshim Jajo, make-up artist.

Ever since, Jajo first decided to take up makeup professionally, there has been no turning back for her. She has gone on to showcase her artistic skills and creativity at many prominent events and shows including the Abraxas Goddess of Beauty Pageant for two consecutive years, Northeast Fest and many others.

However, winning the coveted title of the 'Beauty Vlogger of the Year 2017' was a breakthrough for Jajo, beating over 500 beauty vloggers from across the country.

With the theme 'Royalty' for the grand finale, Jajo chose to use her roots and showcase the rich and vibrant culture of the Tangkhul community. And that's how the idea of 'Naga Tribal Queen' based on the theme 'Royalty' was created the look. Creating such unique and novelty look blend with tradition earned her appreciations and recognition from the art and fashion aficionados of the country.

Jajo added, "About the vlogger competition, I got to learn from Instagram. And it was almost late for the entry when I came across the competition. In India, this is the first edition though it has been hosted in other countries for many years. Since I have been watching the competitions of other countries from YouTube, I decided to participate even though it was at the last moment. And a lot of my friends too helped me to prepare for the competition."

There is no denying that hard work and passion gives shapes and wings to dreams and Jajo is setting the exemplary benchmark to the people especially to the youngsters from the region with her unstoppable skills and talents.

When asked what make-up is all about, a beaming yet confident Jajo said, "For me, make-up is an art. It is about creativity and it enhances our feature as well. Moreover, make-up can hide our imperfection and boost our confidence level."

Truly a self taught artist, Jajo's got her first hand experienced in an artistry field from Michelle Phan makeup tutorials on YouTube and later on, she got a diploma course from Makeup Studio Training Centre in New Delhi.

"After I came to Delhi in 2010, I started watching YouTube on phone for makeup tutorials and Michelle Phan tutorials on makeup got my attention. Her tutorials inspired me not only career wise but it touched me after learning her humble backgrounds. Since then, I came to know about the courses available and with my family's support; I took the diploma course in make-up," said Nimshim Jajo.

Jajo has styled some of the renowned supermodels of the country, including the Kingfisher Calendar Girl 2015, Aishwarya Sushmita, Miss Summer India International 2016, Akanksha Manchanda, Senorita Miss International India 2016, Rewati Chhetri, Miss Scuba International 2016, Varsha Rajkhowa and Jessica Ruth Cunville, Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2015 to named a few.
