IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2020: From number of vacancies to hike in examination fees; important changes to know

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has invited application form for the post of Clerical cadre on its official website. Interested candidates can submit their application form for the IBPS Clerk 2020 recruitment 2020 through the official website—ibps.in.

The registration window of IBPS was started from September 2 and will remain open till September 23. So, candidates are advised to apply for the post of clerk on or before the last date.

Also, candidates can make application fee payments between September 2 to 23.

This year, IBPS has invited a total of 1558 clerical vacancies. The exam will consist of an online preliminary exam and qualified candidates will be called for the online main examination.

According to the official notification, “Depending on the vacancies to be filled in during the financial year 2021-22 based on the business needs of the Participating Organisations and as reported to IBPS, candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the Participating Organisations keeping in view the spirit of Govt. Guidelines on reservation policy, administrative convenience, etc. The validity for CRP Clerks-X will automatically expire at the close of business on 31.03.2022 with or without giving any notice.”

A total of 11 nationalised banks are participating in the IBPS exam this year for the recruitment of clerks.

  • Union Bank of India
  • Bank of Maharashtra

Know some changes in IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2020:

Hike in IBPS Clerk Application Fee:

This year, IBPS has increased the application fees for both reserved and unreserved category. In the notification, IBPS mentioned that general category candidates need to pay Rs 850 as an application fee. Since 2013, the application fee for IBPS clerk has been Rs 600.

While candidates belonging to the reserved category i.e. SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-servicemen will have to pay Rs 175. Earlier, the fees for the reserved category was Rs 100.

Slight increase in a total number of vacancies:

This year, IBPS invited application forms for 1,557 vacancies. While in 2019, 12,075 vacancies were announced.
