2 killed, 20 injured as train derails, plows into truck in Italy

A train derailed in the north of Italy killing two and leaving many injured. This incident happened on Wednesday after a train and a large truck collided. The incident occurred around 11:30 pm local time when a train hit a cargo truck near Turin. Three carriages were derailed.

A statement released by Italy's rail network said, "At 11.20 pm the regional train 10027 Turin-Ivrea hit a heavy goods vehicle that had stopped on a functioning level crossing after crashing through the barriers," The statement also added that the driver and a technician of the train were killed on the spot and 20 passengers were injured.
